









Karen’s artwork can be broken down into four categories. They are paintings, sculptures, birdhouses and drawings. .Her work can be found in many private collections. Many of her works can be found in the James-Ben Studio and Gallery in Greeneville, TN.
Her Paintings are Acrylic with added embellishments. Nature, symbolism and abstraction describe some of the elements that encompass her work. Her commissioned pieces are highly individualized for the intended recipient. She is well versed in color theory and uses her knowledge to create a feast for the eyes.
With her Sculptures, Karen creates a Whimsical World of Womanly form. Each unique “Whimsical Woman” is made of wood, painted with Acrylics and then embellished. Each is given a name that reflects the type of “woman” she has become. These popular sculptures are found in a variety of sizes. Her ”Fancy” Birdhouses are made of wood, painted with Acrylics and embellished. Each one has a famous saying written on the bottom of the piece. They are perfect for a covered outdoor porch.
Attention to detail is found in her pen and ink Drawings. They depict a variety of subjects from Architectural “Man” columns to abstract fantasy goddesses.
